Watch: Pakistani Students In Coronavirus-Hit China Cry For Help, Post Videos Slamming Imran Khan

Amid the Indian evacuation, Pakistani students have put up videos, calling for help to evacuate them from China in wake of the outbreak of the never-seen-before coronavirus.

Imran Khan-led Pakistani government said that it will not evacuate its citizens from China to keep the country safe from coronavirus. As per reports, over 800 Pakistani students are currently studying in various institutes and universities in China’s Wuhan city, the epicentre of the virus outbreak.

Several students took to social media to ask for help while lashing out at the Pakistani government that it was not bothered about the safety of its own citizens and have left them to die in the virus hit country.

In one video, a student can be heard saying. “Bangladeshis will also be evacuated. Pakistanis who are stranded here and our government is telling us that you die, live, get infected, or whatever, but we won’t evacuate you, facilitate you. Shame on you Pakistan government. Learn from India.”

There are between 28,000-30,000 Pakistani nationals in China. Dr Zafar Mirza, the special assistant to Prime Minister Khan, said that the Pakistanis stranded in China will not be allowed to return home until they are quarantined for 14 days and found to be safe from the virus.

The second Air India flight carrying 323 Indian and seven Maldivian citizens from China’s Wuhan city – the epicentre of the deadly coronavirus outbreak – landed in New Delhi on February 2nd, 2020. The first flight, carrying 324 Indian nationals from the Wuhan landed in Delhi on the morning of February 1st, 2020.

With this, a total of 654 Indians have been evacuated from Wuhan where the outbreak of deadly coronavirus has killed over 300 people. Till now, two people from Kerala have tested positive for the virus in India. They have been kept in isolation ward and their health is being closely monitored.

The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak in China had reached 304. The virus has infected over 14,380 people and new 2,590 cases of infections from the coronavirus outbreak have been reported in China promting global travel restrictions and evacuations.
