    TV Journalist Attacked With Hammer In Guwahati, Accused Held

    In yet another incident, a television-journalist has been attacked with a hammer by unidentified miscreants in the broad daylight in Guwahati on July 25, 2019.

    Subrata Kalita an employee with a regional television channel was hammered by unidentified miscreants at Beltola area in the city. As per information, he was attacked outside the A2Z shop.

    Later, the Basistha police arrested the accused Rakesh Basan. The accused was reportedly drugged.

    On April 27th, 2019, Rajib Bora, another employee of the same television channel was attacked by unidentified miscreants near Doss & Co at KB Road of Jorhat town.

    He is also the president of Jorhat Electronic Media Association. Bora sustained grievous head injuries in the attack by a gang of five members.  Bora was admitted at the Jorhat Medical College and Hospital and was later referred to Sanjeevani Hospital.

    Rajen Bora, a journalist employed with Dainik Asom, a leading Assamese daily, was brutally attacked in the state’s Nalbari district on April 25th, 2019.

    On the same day, a Tinsukia-based television journalist identified as Upasana Barua Goswami was also allegedly attacked by a group of four miscreants in a restaurant named Pakghar located in Tinsukia district of Assam.
