Tripura Congress Chief Resigns, Says Party ‘High Command’ Pushed To Adjust Corrupt

In a Twitter post, Pradyot Manikya Debbarman has levelled serious allegations against the party high command

In a major setback for the Congress in Northeast, the Tripura party chief Pradyot Manikya Debbarman has resigned from all party posts over differences with the high command.

Taking to Twitter on September 24th, 2019, he wrote, “I start this day without having to listen to criminals and liars. Not having to worry about which colleague will backstab u, not having to indulge in groupism and backchat. Not having to listen to ‘High Command’ on how to accomodate corrupt people in high positions (sic).”

He added, “Today I can contribute for my state with a clear mind. The Bubagra in me is more powerful than any political post (sic).”

Pradyot, son of the last king of Tripura Kirit Bikram, said he was relieved as he has “changed the people around him who are negative”.

In another post, he posted a message with hashtag resigned as he apologised if he “couldn’t do enough”. He also thanked all for their support and love.

“I tried and perhaps lost but could I win when I was alone in this fight from the beginning? When I woke up relaxed this morning I realised how my health and my life was being affected because I was not ready to allow wrong elements in our society get into posts and position which would destroy our state,” he wrote.
