“All must be aware of the fact that maintaining social distancing and avoiding gatherings are a must under COVID-19 guidelines. Apart from this, Section 144 CrPC that prohibits the assembling of five or more persons is in force in the district,” Nath said.

He also urged the people to adhere to the lockdown guidelines and to maintain social distancing to break the novel coronavirus chain.

He warned that police would have to resort to punitive measures to enforce the lockdown keeping in view the grave threat the dreaded virus poses to the entire mankind.

805 persons have come back home from different parts of the state in the wake of inter-district movement since April 25th, 2020.
