
Weekend plans are not always sorted. Sometimes we stay confused up till Friday and we conclude on spending the weekend in the comfort of our bed. Well, not this weekend as the second edition of the Hills Festival is here and it will start from October 18th, 2019 and will conclude on October 19th, 2019.
The festival will be held at Lum-Er-Pyngngad in Umbir which is 4-5 kilometres away from Lad Umsaw in Ri-Bhoi district, Meghalaya. A total of 17 artistes will be performing at the festival. Also, besides local artistes, international artistes like Jai Waetford who was a participant of X-factor, Australia in 2003, DJ Mansus from Australia, Surreal from India and Roy Soulchild will perform.
Hills festival is organized by Helping Young People Entertainment and the festival aims at giving young local artistes a platform to showcase their talents in music.
The festival has a special highlight where the farmers of Smit village of the state. Also, people can enjoy a ride in a hot air balloon which will take people to a height of 35 to 40 feet above the ground.
It is not only a festival of music, but it will also have food, fun activities by the banks of the mesmerizing Umium lake, reads a Facebook post by Meghalaya Tourism.
Also, in the lines of the state government’s initiative of freeing the state from plastic, there will be no plastic bottles allowed inside the festival venue and drinking water will be provided inside the venue.
