Deep cracks on the newly constructed Highway near Renging near Pasighat have been noticed.
The RK Mission School falling on Aalo Likabali road is cut off and a temporary restoration is in full swing under the supervision of AE Highway Er. Gemar Padu and permanent restoration may take two to three months.
Rainwaters washed away five-meter span of an RCC culvert located at a two-kilometre distance from Aalo. The abutment capsized due to scouring of foundation.
Considering the gravity of the situation, the entire PHED department led by Er. Kirba Sora, EE – PHED are engaged to start the restoration works on a war footing. Locals also volunteered to take part in the restoration process.
Earlier, large chunk of the population did not get drinking water supply for nearly a week due to disruption of headworks at ENE river and PHED anyhow managed to restore it using JCB in the river.
The MLA of Aalo Kento Jini accompanied by EE, A E, JE’s visited the site of restoration but hardly after two days of restoration that another Flood fury did all the damages to create altogether a major crisis for the department and consumers in large.
The task took herculean as manpower and machines have to be placed in all four sources to speed up the restoration works.
Due to incessant rain during the last 24 hours, many roads like Museum Panchali Road, Division IV to Old CM Bungalow Road closed due to landslide, which was later cleared by the concerned department.
Two OBT houses belong to Tacho Cheda and Dugh Radhe have been submerged in Lekhi. All the family members have been evacuated to their relatives’ house.
