    Punjab Police Asks People To Stop Sharing Video Showing Violence Against Sikhs In Meghalaya

    The Punjab Police have asked netizens to refrain from liking, commenting or sharing the particular video to avoid unrest in the society

    The Punjab Police on August 16th, 2019 have asked netizens to refrain from sharing a video which shows atrocities carried out against the Sikh community in Meghalaya.

    Taking to its official Twitter handle, the department issued a notice in relation to the matter. “A Live Video is being shared which talks about atrocities carried out against the Sikh community in Meghalaya. This is to confirm that this is not genuine news & situation is absolutely peaceful in the North East, which has also been confirmed by Meghalaya’s ADGP Law & Order,” tweeted Punjab Police.

    The department further mentioned that a similar incident has been reported in the Northeast more than a year back and action has been taken as per law. Marking it as fake news, the Punjab Police asked netizens to refrain from liking, commenting or sharing the particular video to avoid unrest in the society.
