Panic gripped in Upper Assam’s industrial district of Dibrugarh on August 22nd, 2019 after a prowling leopard strayed into a residential building in the Panchali area of the town and mutilated a person.
As per reports, the wild cat strayed into the residential area in the early morning hours of Thursday. The forest officials along with the police were accordingly intimated and based on the information a team with trained specialists from Tinsukia reached the area and launched hour-long operation to trace the wild animal.
A special team from Tinsukia is in an enduring effort to tranquilize the big cat.
As per reports, movement along the area has been restricted.
