Over 40 Killed In Delhi As Deadly Fire Engulfs Factory, Condolences Pour In


As many as 43 persons have lost their lives in a devastating fire that broke out at a six-storey manufacturing factory in Delhi’s Anaj Mandi today morning. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top politicos have offered their deep condolences for the deceased and prayed for a speedy recovery for the injured.

As per reports, the blaze broke out at around 5.22 am inside the factory and around 30 fire tenders reached at the spot on Rani Jhansi Road to douse the flames.

A fire official confirmed that several people, who were trapped inside the factory, succumbed to their injuries due to smoke inhalation.

The fire squad have managed to rescue at least 50 people and the injured are admitted to separate hospitals–LNJP Hospital, RML Hospital, Lady Hardinge Hospital and Hindu Rao Hospital respectively.

Meanwhile, condolences have started pouring in from all quarters for the deadly fire and loss of life. President Ram Nath Kovind took to Twitter and wrote, “Extremely sad to hear the tragic news about fire in Delhi’s Anaz Mandi. My thoughts and prayers are with affected families. Wishing an early recovery to those injured. The local authorities are doing their best to rescue people and provide help.”.
