The Government of Assam on September 12th, 2019 has appointed the noted Assamese litterateur and critic Dr Malinee Goswami as the Vice-Chancellor of the Assam Women’s University, Jorhat. Dr Goswami is currently the Head of the Department of Assamese in the Gauhati University.
Goswami received the Pandit Tirthanath Sarma-Nirmala Devi Memorial Award in 2017, Pushadevi Jalan Literary Award in 2016 for her book Sanskritayan and Sahitya Akademi Translation Award in 2008.
Krishna Kanta Handiqui:Life And Works (2018), Sanskritayan (2015), Chinta-Prapancha (2014), Lakshya Aru Sadhana (2014), Anundoram Borooah (2014), Chandrakanta Abhidhan (chief editor) (2013), Nidanam: A History of Medicine of Assam (ed jointly) (2012), A Catalogue of Manuscripts of Assam, (ed. and authored a critical introduction) Anundoram Borooah Institute of Language Art and Culture (2012), Tirukural (Translation) (2012) and Tirthanath Sharma Racanawali, Vol I & II, (ed) with a Critical Introduction (2010) are some of her remarkable works.
Earlier, Goswami worked as a lecturer in Sanskrit in Rangia College from 1981 to 1985 followed by a lecturer in the department of Assamese in Gauhati University during the period of 1985-1993, Reader in Department of Assamese in Gauhati University from 1993 to 2001.
