The National Investigation Agency(NIA) on December 31st, 2019 has filed a charge-sheet against six people in connection with an ambush case on Assam Rifles(AR) personnel in Manipur’s Chandel district.
The charge-sheet has been filed in a Special Court in Imphal against the six people accused of belonging to the banned People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and Manipur Naga People’s Front (MNPF), reports said.
The alleged ambush took place on November 15th, 2017 during a road opening task along the Chamol-Sajir Tampak road of the district conducted by the 4th battalion of the AR. Two AR jawans sustained grievous injuries and one of them succumbed to their injuries.
Two militants were also killed in an exchange of fire.
