Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on November 9th, 2019 welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision on Ayodhya land dispute case. He called it a victory for our centuries-old unity and harmony.

He took to Twitter and wrote, “We welcome the historic #AYODHYAVERDICT of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. It’s not a defeat or victory for anyone. It’s a victory for our centuries-old unity, integrity and harmony.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed his happiness on the verdict and asked everyone to unite and show Rashtra Bhakti.

It may be mentioned, the Supreme Court has delivered the much-awaited verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case on November 9th, 2019. The top court ordered that the Central Govt within three-four months formulate a scheme for setting up of trust and hand over the disputed site to it for construction of a temple at the site.

A suitable plot of land measuring 5 acres to be handed over to Sunni Waqf Board either by Central government or state government construct a mosque at the allotted land, the Supreme Court ordered.
