
With an effort to tackle the possible impact of lethal coronavirus pandemic in the state, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on March 23rd, 2020, assigned the members of his Council of Ministers to monitor the situation of the districts.
The Ministers will keep in touch of the district administration and provide guidance, suggestions and support. CM Sonowal during his Video Conference with the DCs, SPs and Joint Directors of Health Services today announced the formation of the committee of the ministers.
The state government today declared lockdown with effect from 6 pm on March 24th to March 31st, 2020. State Health and Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed that the essential services and commodities including the LPG, medical, electricity and water services will be available during the lockdown.
Sarma also informed that the state has not registered any positive COVID-19 cases to date. He appealed the people to cooperate the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.
