
#RIPHumanity, #HangRapists, #PunishRapistsinPublic are trending on the microblogging site Twitter after the barbaric act in Hyderabad city that shook the entire nation.
Twitteratis, social media users, celebrities, politicos have come down heavily against the brutality to Hyderabad-based veterinarian who was charred to death on the night of November 27th, 2019 along the Hyderabad-Bengaluru National Highway toll gate before being allegedly gang-raped by four men.
The social media users offered their deepest condolences; prayers of the victim’s family kept coming from all quarters. Comparing the incident with the sensational Nirbhaya case, netizens questioned the government on ‘women security ’. Comments like ‘hang the rapist In front of public’, ‘no country has remained untouched by such act of cruelty, ‘there should be severe punishment’ are flooding the internet.
Widespread outrage has broken out across the country against the heinous incident demanding justice. Women’s rights organizations also held candlelight processions to mark the ‘dark day’ in Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, the Hyderabad police have arrested four suspects including the lorry driver and cleaner Mohammed alias Areef (26), Jollu Shiva (20), Jollu Naveen (20) and Chintakunta Chennakeshavulu (20) of Gudigandla village on charges of rape, murder and hiding evidence.
The Hyderabad police have also issued an advisory for women’s safety and elderly persons to seek police help at any time of the day.
