Modi, Abe To Arrive In Guwahati On Dec 15

Japan had earlier announced that it will invest Rs 13,000 crore in the Northeast region


Preparations are going on in full swing as Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi are likely to arrive in Guwahati on December 15th, 2019 for the 14th India-Japan annual summit.

India will host the summit to be held most probably in Northeast from December 15th to December 17th, 2019.

Back in Guwahati, the officials are sprucing up the 19th-century colonial structure old deputy commissioner’s (DC’s) bungalow atop the Sukreswar Hill which is expected to the venue for cultural events. Modi and Abe are also expected to visit Kamakhya Temple and take a cruise on the Brahmaputra.

One of the two hotels in Guwahati – Vivanta and Radisson Blu –is expected to be the venue for a business summit to be co-hosted by CII. Japan had earlier announced that it will invest Rs 13,000 crores in the Northeast region.

During the two-day visit, Prime Ministers of both the sides are likely to visit the World War 2 peace Memorial built by the Japanese in 1994 and the Imphal Peace Museum at Red Hill or Maibam Lokpa Ching in Manipur.
