The brutal and rape and murder of a 26-year-old veterinary doctor in Hyderabad has shaken the conscience of the nation. Sympathies are pouring in for her kin even as angry netizens, politicos and actors demanded harsh punishment to the perpetrators.
People took to social media to express shock and anger over the dastardly death of the young veterinary doctor. The women professionals reacting to the inhuman gangrape and murder of the doctor appealed to the government to bring in stringent laws to instil fear in the mind of the lawbreakers.
At a time when a fear-psychosis has gripped the women working late at night, two boys from Digboi in Assam came forward and offered rides to women. They also shared phone numbers and asked the women to contact them if they are finding it difficult to travel at night in Digboi.
Taking to Facebook on December 2nd, 2019, one user Neer Nayan wrote, “We have our own bike,scooty,car.
Any sister daughter mother, i mean any lady finding difficult to travel at night in digboi can call in this number 8724049613 (nayan) ,9365977532( pall), 8638191334 (rajib raj gogoi [ramnagar,Digboi]). You can call in any of these numbers. If one is not available the other can help.
We cannot change the mindset of rapist,all we can do is change ours. Say no to rape.”

The young professional was allegedly raped and set on fire on the night of November 27th, 2019 along the Hyderabad-Bengaluru National Highway toll gate by four men. Her charred body was recovered on November 28th, 2019 at 8 am.
The victim’s family member said that the doctor was on her way to get her scooter repaired when she was allegedly raped and murdered for four men. Almost all social media handles are filled with posts and comments, severely condemning the incident.
