NBCC DGM Arrested With Rs 2.50 Lakh Bribe Money In Guwahati

The top official was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe in a Guwhati hotel


The CBI on October 24th, 2019 arrest a top official of government-owned NBCC (India) Limited (formerly National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited)  while accepting bribe money from a person in Hotel Rajdhani Regency in Guwahati. The officer has been identified as Utpal Paul, Deputy General Manager (DGM), NBCC.

A complaint was lodged by a person with the police. Based on the complaint, a trap was laid and Paul was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe money.

Previously, the CBI had arrested NBCC Additional General Manager P K Mittal in relation to a road construction scam. The company’s former DGM BC Dhiman was also arrested in Guwahati for allegedly attempting to bribe the CBI officials to influence the investigation into the alleged irregularities in the construction of roads in Guwahati.

The NBCC is a blue-chip Government of India Navratna Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs and a Central Public Sector.
