Burdwan blast case convict and a hardcore Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) leader of Assam module, Sahanur Alom has been released from the Dumdum Central Jail on one-day parole. Sahanur reached his home at Chatla under Sarthebari Police Station in Barpeta on September 28th, 2019.
As per reports, Sahanur had appealed for bail two months ago when his father expired. Following his appeal, Sahanur was granted parole for one day. Sahanur reached the Barpeta Road Railway Station by Kamrup Express accompanied by a team of Kolkata Police. Later, Sahanur was produced at the Majdia Police Outpost for the necessary paperwork.
Sahanur was arrested from Larkuchi village in Nalbari district and was awarded eight years of imprisonment by NIA court. Sahanur’s wife Sujana Begam was arrested from the Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in November, 2014. While Sujana was released earlier on bail, Sahanur reached home on September 28th, 2019 on parole after five years.
Meanwhile, the Barpeta district administration has upped security in the village to tackle any untoward situation following his visit.
