Meet Shillong Girl Meaidaibahun Majaw Who Developed An Anti-Bullying App

Majaw said that she was bullied in school for four years and the traumatic experience led her to create the app

A student of Class-IV from Meghalaya’s Shillong Meaidaibahun Majaw has grabbed the limelight for her innovative creation of an application to report against bullies.

The ‘anti-bullying’ app will help children fight against getting bullied in school and report it to the school principal, teachers and even other students.

Majaw said that she was bullied in school for four straight years and the experience led her to create the app.

The girl in September 2019 enrolled with a course at an online portal—White Hat Junior to learn fundamentals of coding and by December of the same year, she was able to develop the unique app.

Meanwhile, she has been selected for the Silicon Valley Mentorship Round and if the app outnumbers other app and makes it to the top 6 she will be able to participate in the Silicon Valley Challenge in California this year. Majaw will be given a platform to represent the app before an international audience, including investors.

If the application gets approval it will soon be available in the Playstore from where the android users can download and install it on their phones.

State Education Minister Lakmen Rymbui congratulating Majaw for the efforts said that she would grow up to be a responsible citizen.
