Man Dies After Being Shot In Guwahati

Shyam Sundar Ratawa was shot at by unidentified miscreants at Kumarpara in Guwahati


The man, who was shot at by miscreants in Guwahati on September 12th, 2019, died at the GNRC Hospital, Six Mile at around 7:30 pm. The deceased has been identified as Shyam Sundar Ratawa.

Speaking to Time8, Shyam Sharma, the owner of Shri Jagdamba Iron & Steels located at Athgaon in the city, said, “We have no idea about the motive behind the incident and who was behind the incident. We have no enemies as per my knowledge. He was a good and loyal employee. He worked with me for more than five years.” He further said that he could not comment on the case as it was under investigation.

Ratawa, who was working as a salesman at Shri Jagdamba Iron & Steels, was shot at by “a gang of hired criminals” in Kumarpara area in the city. The victim was rushed to the Marwari Hospitals in Athgaon following the shooting from where he was referred to GNRC Hospital, Six Mile.

Joint Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, Devraj Upadhyaya had also rushed to the incident spot and took stock of the incident. A bag was recovered from the spot.
