Lovlina Borgohain Marches Into Quarters Of World Women’s Boxing C’ship

Lovlina Borgohain represented India for the first time at the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championship, held in New Delhi in 2018


Boxer Lovlina Borgohain (69kg) marched into the quarterfinals at the AIBA Women’s World Championships held at Ulan-Ude, Russia on October 9th, 2019. Lovlina hails from the Golaghat district of Assam.

Sonitpur’s Jamuna Boro and Manipur’s MC Mary Kom also stepped into the  quarter finals at the AIBA Women’s World Championships.

Lovlina has been selected for her second Women’s World Boxing Championships in Ulan-Ude, Russia without trials. She represented India for the first time at the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship, held in New Delhi, where she won the bronze medal in the Welterweight (69 kg) category in 2018.

Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju took to Twitter to congratulate the boxer.
