    ‘Joi Aai Axom’: Vishal Dadlani Takes Dwijing Festival By Storm

    The much anticipated Dwijing Festival kick-started on December 27th, 2019 on the banks of Aie River at Chirang district

    Popular Bollywood music composer and singer Vishal Dadlani who set the stage on fire with his power-packed performance at the on-going Dwijing Festival did not fail to mark his magnetic impact on the crowd as he chanted ‘Joi Aai Axom’.

    The slogan which has the intensity to make people stand united is a popular slogan from the Assam Movement. With every chant, the crowd equally reciprocated to the singer marking overtones of Assamese nationalism.

    It may be mentioned that the much anticipated Dwijing Festival kick-started on December 27th, 2019 on the banks of Aie River at Chirang district in Assam and will continue till January 7th, 2020.

    The 12-day festival celebrates Assam’s culture, heritage and promotes river tourism. Over the years the festival has been attracting both domestic and global tourists and marking an example of cultural exchange.

    The festival which started off in 2016 was earlier known as the ‘Aie River Winter Festival’. The name eventually changed to ‘Dwijing’ which means ‘river bank’.
