
The Lasith Malinga-led Sri Lanka team arrived in India on January 2nd, 2020 for the forthcoming T20 series. The team is slated to reach Guwahati at 4.20 pm by a special flight today to play the first match in the city on January 5th.
“Sri Lanka T20I squad led by Lasith Malinga left the island this morning for India to take part in the 3-match T20I series”, the blue ticked Sri Lanka Cricket’s Twitter handle shared.
The India team led by its vice-captain Rohit Sharma will reach Guwahati on January 3rd, 2020 via different flights.
Earlier the Sri Lanka Cricket team made it public that the 16-member squad will be led by veteran pacer Lasith Malinga.
Meanwhile, the Guwahati Police has made elaborate arrangements to avoid any unwanted situation during the India-Sri Lanka T20 match scheduled to be held at the Barsapara Stadium.
Earlier, it was speculated that the match would be shifted due to protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act, 2019 (CAA). The Assam Cricket Association is also confident of hosting the match without any problems.
The online ticket sales for the fixture began from December 25th, 2019 morning via Bookmyshow.
