The Jakhalabandha police have nabbed a person on charges of murdering his wife in Jakhalabandha town, Kaliabor.

The incident took place at the residence of Akanmani Das. The accused husband Shyam Das in an inebriated state stabbed his wife Sarumai Das with a sharp weapon and escaped from the spot, reports stated.

The police however launched a search operation and nabbed Das.

Meanwhile, the irked locals have staged a protest by blocking the highway demanding justice for the deceased and stringent measures by the police fort women’s security.
