Good news for all cricket lovers. The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kamrup (Rural) District Administration for developing a cricket ground and constructing necessary infrastructure including a pavilion in Amingaon.

Addressing a presser here on November 9th, 2019, Debojit Saikia ACA secretary informed that the work has already started to develop the ground.

It may be recalled, Rajasthan Royals (RR) co-owner Manoj Badale on November 6th, 2019 in Guwahati announced that the franchise cricket team is going to set up a cricket academy in the state in association with ACA by January 2020. The RR’s two Indian Premier League fixtures will be played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in the city.

Saikia further informed that a new Inter-School Cricket Tournament (upto Class X) will be introduced from January 18th, 2020. The tournament has been named after late Pulin Das, a renown sports administrator, organiser, player and commentator.
