Hagrama Mohilary Cannot Win BTC General Elections: Manoj Kumar Rabha

BTC general elections is slated to be held on April 4th, 2020

With a few days left for the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) general elections, the Kokrajhar parliamentarian Naba Kumar Sarania-led Gana Suraksha Samiti (GSS) on March 13th, 2020, claimed that the council chief Hagrama Mohilary-led Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) cannot win the elections.

Speaking to the media persons, GSS candidate from Manoj Kumar Rabha said, “People need a change. We have gained enough support to overthrow Hagrama Mohilary.”

On February 24th, 2020, Sarania had said the Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) cannot even win a single seat in the council’s general election. “Hagrama Mohilary has fielded a total of 15 candidates for the BTC general elections. Unfortunately, not a single candidate can win the elections. No one can save Mohilary this time,” the MP said while expressing his confidence over forming the government.

It may be mentioned that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will fight the council’s elections alone.

The last date of filing the nominations is March 18th, 2020 and the last date of withdrawing the nominations is March 21st, 2020. Polling will be held on April 4th, 2020, while re-polling will be held on April 6th, 2020, if necessary and the counting will be held on April 8th, 2020.

A total of 23,86,359 electors will exercise franchise in 3077 polling stations across 40 BTC constituencies. A total of 521 polling stations have been identified as very sensitive.
