Amid the nation-wide complete lockdown, the Assam government on March 26th, 2020, issued an advisory on opening timing of the grocery shops and chemist shops.
In a bid to make the essential items accessible to the people during the lockdown in the state, the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs department fixed the timing of operation for wholesalers from 8 am to 4 pm and for retailers from 8 am to 7 pm. “Social distancing is to be ensured in each establishment with proper sanitization facility,” the order signed by the Additional Chief Secretary to the government of Assam, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs stated.
