The Gauhati High Court on February 19th, 2020, promulgated stay in the appointment against various posts of the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC). The high court has said that the commission cannot appoint the candidates without the permission of the court.
The commission on January 30th, 2020, had announced a list of 115 selected candidates for the posts of Agriculture Development Officers.
The stay order came after a section of candidates challenged the advertisement of the APSC alleging anomalies in the appointment. The students had also alleged that the commission had not implemented the 2010 rules.
