Frustrated Over Lockdown, Assam Man Kills Nephew In Arunachal


During the lockdown due to the ongoing novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, a minor boy from Assam was allegedly killed by his maternal uncle on Thursday in Arunachal Pradesh’s Nirjuli.

The accused person is a labourer from Assam’s Gohpur who was living in Nirjuli in a place provided by his employer. The incident was reported to the police by his employer and on receiving the input, the Arunachal Police immediately arrested him.

On sport interrogation, the person confessed that he had killed his nephew by hitting him with a pressure cooker lit several times and biting his neck. However, during the interrogation, the accused could not provide any valid information on why he killed his own nephew. The only thing that he told the police is that he was frustration due to the lockdown and wanted to go home.

It was even reported that the accused took the extreme step as he went into a heated argument with the deceased’s father over some personal issue.

The police have registered a case under Section 302 IPC against the accused.
