In less than four hours, another person from Goalpara district has tested positive for novel coronavirus on April 28th, 2020.

The patient is a secondary contact of an attendee of the Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Delhi’s Nizamuddin Markaz.

With this, Assam has registered 37 COVID-19 positive cases of which 27 have been discharged and one patient has died. There are nine active COVID-19 cases at present in the State.

At 12:20 pm Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had tweeted that a 16-year-old girl from Bongaigaon district of Assam has tested positive for COVID-19.

She too is a secondary contact of a Markaz attendee. The teenage girl hails from Manikpur Salmara.
