A Dibrugarh University (DU) student, who hailed from Dhemaji district of Assam, was found hanging inside his room on November 9th, 2019 although no suicide note was found immediately.

The body of Lakhyajit Gogoi, a seventh-semester student of Physics department, was found hanging in his room at the private hostel neat the varsity complex. His body has been sent for post mortem.

“The incident is unfortunate. His family has been informed,” locals said. The reason behind taking the drastic step is yet to be ascertained. This is the second suicide case of a DU student this year.
