Assam CM Sonowal Hits Campaign Trail For Delhi Polls 2020

The ruling Arvind Kejriwal led AAP government is eyeing for a second consecutive term


With just days left for the big fight between the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Bharatiya Janata and Congress in the high-voltage Delhi assembly elections, political parties are leaving no stone unturned to strike a chord with the voters.

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on February 4th, 2020 joined the campaigning trail in Delhi. He rallied and held roadshows at several places in the capital.

The elections for Delhi state Assembly will be held on February 8th, 2020 and the counting of votes will take place on February 11th, 2020. The modal code of conduct came into effect from January 6th, 2020.

Apart from Sonowal, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh will also campaign for the Delhi elections. Several MPS and BJP leaders from the Northeast region would take part in the election campaign.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address another election rally in Dwarka on February 4th, 2020. On the other hand, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi will also join the campaign trail in Sangam Vihar on February 4th, 2020. The Congress bigwigs will also conduct rallies across East Delhi, South Delhi, Central Delhi and Outer Delhi. 

The ruling Arvind Kejriwal led AAP government is eyeing for a second consecutive term. The term of the 70-member Delhi Assembly will expire on February 22nd, 2020 and a new House has to be constituted before that.

The AAP will release their manifesto for 2020 Delhi elections on February 4th, 2020. Over 13,000 polling station will be set up and about 90,000 officers will be deployed for the state elections.
