
The Kamrup Metropolitan District Administration and health department sealed off the 2 No. Milanpur Masjid at Chandamri in Guwahati.
The masjid was sealed off for 14-day on the night of April 26th, 2020.
According to reports, Mohabbat Hussain, the muezzin, visited the mosque after returning from Nalbari, which has been classified as COVID-19 hotspot district with cluster.
The locals said that Hussain after returning from Nalbari, visited the mosque and also recited azan.

Movement of people in the COVID-19 hotspot areas has been restricted with exemptions for essential services, as per the order of the Union Health Ministry.
Apart from Nalbari, four other districts in Assam have been identified as COVID-19 hotspot districts with cluster by the Union Health Ministry. The districts are: Golaghat, Morigaon, Goalpara and Dhubri.
Hussain, his wife and their 3-year-old child have been put under quarantine. The Milanpur area was also sanitized by the health department as a preventive measure.
Earlier, the Athgaon Masjid in Guwahati has been sealed and declared a containment zone after three of the Covid-19 positive patients in Assam were found to have taken part in a gathering there in March.
Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that nearly 100 people, including 10 who attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation in Delhi’s Nizamuddin Markaz, were part of an event held on March 12th, 2020 inside the Athgaon mosque.
