COVID-19: 38 People Quarantined At Different Hospitals In Assam

In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 38 people have been put under hospital quarantine at different places in Assam.

As many as 25 people suspected of being infected have been kept in isolation at Swahid Mukunda Kakati Civil Hospital while eight in Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed College and Hospital and five in Sivasagar Civil Hospital.

“All 25 people have developed symptoms of COVID-19. They have been put in isolation and are under close observation,” a doctor of Swahid Mukunda Kakati Civil Hospital said.

The samples of the patients have been sent for examination.

On March 31st, 2020, Assam registered its first positive COVID-19 case. It is the third case in Northeast.

A 52-year-old man who had a travel history to Delhi has been found positive for coronavirus and is undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital. Confirming this, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said the heath condition of the patients stable. “We are doing the needful to trace the source,” he added.
