Amid the coronavirus scare, a 20-year-old youth has allegedly escaped from the isolation ward of Sivasagar Civil Hospital.
The youth, who had developed symptoms of COVID-19, was admitted to the isolation ward on March 30th, 2020.
Speaking to the media persons, the deputy commissioner Lakhminandan Gogoi said, “After getting the cognizance about the incident, an investigation has been ordered.”
However, the DC said that the youth was tested negative for coronavirus infection.
Assam has reported a total of five positive cases so far, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed today.
