Coronavirus Outbreak: All 645 Indian Evacuees From Wuhan Test Negative

India has so far reported three confirmed cases of nCoV from Kerala


All 645 Indian evacuees from Wuhan, China have tested negative for novel Coronavirus (nCoV). In addition, 510 samples have been tested by ICMR network laboratories of which all have tested negative except for three already reported positive. The three positive cases are clinically stable.

Community surveillance and contact tracing are ongoing by IDSP for 6558 persons across 32 States/UTs, according to a PIB statement.

India has so far reported three confirmed cases of nCoV from Kerala. As on 6th February, 13,8750 passengers from 1,265 flights have been screened for nCoV illness. Till now, no new case has been detected.

The Fourth Joint Monitoring Group meeting was held on February 6th, 2020 under Directorate General of Health Services to discuss various technical issues including review period of follow up required for asymptomatic travellers from China.

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in coordination with central Ministries and all States/UTs urged to the people to seek medical attention immediately in case of fever, cough and symptoms of pneumonia.
