The unprecedented novel coronavirus pandemic has brought the couples closer. The intimacy among couples who, caught in their busy lives, don’t find the time to be with each other, is indeed growing.
Away from office, parties and must-do social visits, the couples, confined to their homes, are getting time to enjoy proximity and knowing each other better.
While the demand for food supplies, masks, hand sanitizers and medicines has risen, so has it for condoms and contraceptive pills, pharmacists said.
The pharmacies as well as e-commerce sites have reported a sudden rise in sales of condoms and contraceptive pills.
Some experts suggested a coronavirus baby boom in December 2020. Even American rapper Wiz Khalifa tweeted about how quarantine babies will be “poppin out next year”.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a three week country-wide lock down from midnight of March 24th, 2020 to break the cycle of coronavirus infections in India.
Modi said this drastic measure was necessary to protect the state of India’s health and its economy.
