Cherry Blossom Festival Begins In Meghalaya, Conrad Invites All To Experience

With the Himalayan cherry blossom lights up parts of the East Khasi Hills and Shillong in Meghalaya to mark the beginning of autumn in India, the 4th edition of India International Cherry Blossom Festival 2019 has begun in a befitting manner on November 13th, 2019.

The Meghalaya government in association with the Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) and ICCR organise the festival of pink in the state. It may be mentioned that the government and IBSD and ICCR have planted around 5000 cherry trees in the state so far.

Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, who visited the festival today, extended his warm invitation to the people of the country to witness the festival and experience the best Meghalaya has to offer.

The festival, which is being held across different venues including Polo 5th Ground, State Convention Centre, Golf Course, JN Stadium and Indoor Stadium Polo, will conclude on November 16th, 2019.
