    Breaking: Two Myanmar Trained ULFA-I Cadres In Cops Net In Assam

    Two hardcore Myanmar trained anti-talks faction of the United Liberation Front of Assam, Independent(ULFA-I) led by fugitive commander-in-chief Paresh Baruah were arrested in two different areas in Assam on July 17th, 2019.

    Acting on reliable inputs, a team of the Assam Rifles(AR) launched an operation at the census town in Jairampur town along the inter state border Assam-Arunachal Pradesh and nabbed ULFA-I cadre Dharmajit Baishya in the morning hours of July 17th, 2019. Baishya was held while he reportedly fled from the outfit’s Myanmar camp.

    Baishya who originally hails from Naharbari village under Udalguri district is currently under custody of Moran police for interrogation.

    In a separate incident, Surajit Moran alias Sergeant Major Nirav Asom today surrendered in front of the Tinsukia police near Bordumsa town few kilometres from the Tinsukia district in Upper Assam.

    Surajit had been reportedly imparting gun training at the designated camps of the outfit for the last 14 years. He gave up arms in presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Ripunjoy Kakoti and Army Major Jitendra Kumar.
