
National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) chief Ranjan Daimary was released from the Guwahati Central Jail on interim bail on January 25th, 2020.
Daimary, who was serving life imprisonment in the 2008 serial bomb blasts case, was granted interim bail for four weeks by the Gauhati High Court on January 24th, 2020. He will be flown to Delhi on January 25th, 2020 to join the peace parleys to sign a new Bodo accord.
The leaders of the other faction of the NDFB led by B Saoraigwra are already stationed in New Delhi for the peace talks.

A huge number of Daimary’s supporters assembled outside the jail premises to catch a glimpse of their leader.
Daimari and nine others were sentenced life terms on January 30th, 2019 by a special CBI court in Guwahati for their role in the deadly serial bomb blasts in Assam on December 30, 2018.
The blasts ripped apart Guwahati, Barpeta Road, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar. As per reports, eighteen bombs went off, causing at least 81 deaths and 470 injuries.
