    Breaking: Miscreants Loot Rs 40,000 From Pilgrims In Sivasagar

    Sivasagar: Unidentified miscreants looted five pilgrims of Rs 40,000 and took away a total of five mobile phones from their vehicle which was parked near the Sivadol temple in Sivasagar in the early hours of August 4th, 2019.

    As per reports, the victims hailing from Narayanpur in Lakhimpur district had visited Sivasagar to offer prayers at the Sivadol and had parked their car near the temple.

    A victim said, “We were inside the temple when the miscreants broke the glasses of our vehicle and took away cash worth Rs 40,000 from the pockets of our clothes that were in the seats of the vehicle. They also fled with our five mobile phones which were in the car.”

    An FIR has been lodged at the Sivasagar Police Station. Police said that massive manhunt is on to nab the culprits.

    The Sivadol is a group of structures comprising three temples of Sivadol, Vishnudol and Devidol shrines. These temples are located on the banks of the Sivasagar tank, also known as the Borpukhuri tank.
