An ancient statue have been unearthed from the premises of the prestigious Cotton University in Guwahati.

As per information available, the idol was recovered by construction workers in the premises on January 22nd, 2020.

The locals said that the workers came across the idol while digging the land for raising a new building.

The officials of the Archaeological department said that the idol belongs to the 11th-12th century and is of Lord Surya.
