As many as 17 students were caught cheating in Dhurbi district’s Chapar on the first day of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC)/ Assam High Madrassa (AHM) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA).
The students were expelled from two HSCL examination centres – Raijhora Higher Secondary School, Bahalpur and Salkocha Higher Secondary School.
10 students were expelled from Raijhora Higher Secondary School examination centre and seven from Salkocha Higher Secondary School examination centre.
The SEBA announced that any student found engaging in malpractice during the ensuing HSLC/AHM examinations will be expelled for three years.
This year, 3,48,739 HSLC candidates and 9,707 AHM candidates would appear for the Class 10 board examination in 860 centres across the State.
