In a sensational incident, a Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) party worker was shot dead at Bhutiachang along the Mangaldoi-Bhutiachang road in Udalguri district of Assam on the late evening of February 21st, 2020.

The deceased Khairul Haque (51) was shot from point-blank range, officials said. He hailed from Simaluguri village under Paneri police station.

This comes after the wife, son and other family members of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chairman Hagrama Mohilary were attacked by miscreants on the night of February 20th, 2020. Sewly Mohilary, wife of Mohilary, sustained injuries following the incident.

The local villagers said that Haque ran a tea stall in Bhutiachang but it was closed a month back. The lifeless body of the BPF worker was spotted by a local woman and later intimated the local police and villagers.
