The Kamrup Metropolitan district administration has allowed the book shops and stalls dealing with student curriculum books in Guwahati to operate from Wednesday with some conditions.
A notification by the administration said that the shops or outlets will have to deal with curriculum books for students only with primary arrangements for home delivery. However, in case a guardian wants to collect books by themselves, they will have to collect them without using vehicles.
No passes will be issued to any individual or parents for the collection of books from the shops or stalls and wearing of masks by the employees, sanitization facility and social distancing at the stalls are a must.
The stores will be allowed to open in between 10 AM-5 PM and not beyond that.
For the movement of their employees and vehicles, the proprietors of the Book Shops will issue identity cards to them. No separate permission from the District Administration will be required.
