Congress MP from Barpeta Lok Sabha Constituency Abdul Khaleque on August 20^th, 2019, expressed doubt on the possible exclusion of lakhs of people from the National Register of Citizen (NRC) to be published on August 31^st, 2019. “I have doubt about the publication of an error-free NRC,” he said.

Besides, talking about the state coordinator for NRC, Assam, Prateek Hajela, Khaleque said, “Hajela is going to be villain.” He further alleged that Hajela is working on the government’s dictation. Moreover, the MP said that Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statements cannot be trusted.

Talking about the forthcoming by-elections in Assam, Khaleque said, “The people of Jania legislative constituency will reject the BJP and give a mandate to the Congress.”
