Barber Tests Positive For COVID-19 In Guwahati

Two new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Guwahati on May 16

Among the newly tested novel coronavirus (COVID-19) positive persons, one is a barber who was reported to have been serving several people in the past few days since there were several relaxations in the norms.

It has now been suspected that there might be a larger number of COVID-19 positive persons among the citizens as there are chances of the barber infecting several other persons while serving them.

The authorities have initiated the contact tracing of the barber to figure out the source of infection.

The total number of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Assam surged to 91 after two more persons linked with the potato warehouse case tested positive for COVID-19 on May 16th, 2020.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet informed that now the total number of cases has now reached 91 with 46 active cases and 41 being discharged. Two were reported dead while two have migrated from the state.

Earlier 15 COVID-19 positive cases were detected in Guwahati. All the cases are related to a single person who used to work in a potato warehouse on the outskirts of Guwahati as well as at Hotel Rajkamal in Fancy Bazar.
