A youth from Assam employed in eastern Chennai was reportedly killed by his colleagues. The Chennai police have arrested six persons informed the family.

The deceased identified as Biren Kurmi(37) originally hailed from No.1 Patiyapathar area under Khumtai village panchayat in Golaghat district of Assam.

According to his family, Kurmi shifted to the state in 2016 and was employed at a private company. He has left behind his parents and wife.

“He was a very gentle person and it is unbelievable something like this could happen to him. The culprits should be punished” a family member said.
