Four absconding fraudsters netted in Gujarat

After a five-month-long investigation, the Assam Police arrested the accused of an alleged fraud case that took place at Sonari in Sivasagar district in May 2019. The Charaideo police in cooperation with the Gujarat police nabbed all the four accused, who were absconding since May, in Bharuch.

The accused have been identified as Kamala Baser (45), Ghanashyam Sundaram Asara (58), Mathu Thanuli (46) and Yusuf Rauthai (46).

As per information, the arrestees had started a business establishment ‘M/s Sparrow Traders’ at Sonari’s Barahi Chariali in May this year and continued their business for around 20 days. During that time, they collected a huge amount of money from the customers in advance and later fled.

Speaking to media persons, Anand Mishra, Superintendent of Police, Charaideo said, “We launched an investigation into the matter and traced them in Gujarat’s Bharuch. The local police helped us to nab them. Interestingly, they had started a new business venture called ‘Tulsi’ in Bharuch.”
