
In an effort to engage common people directly on their demands and aspirations from upcoming State Budget 2020-21, Assam’s Finance Department has launched a programme seeking suggestions and ideas from them.
Taking to the official Twitter handle, the Assam Finance department wrote, ” It’s with ardent anticipation we announce that #AssamBudget2020 is going to be out soon & we invite your ideas & suggestion for the upcoming Budget. We are looking forward to your valued contributions so that together we can build a stronger & a better Assam.”
Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been emphasising on the need to make the budget citizen and outcome-oriented. The Assam Budget is expected to be presented in March.
The Assam Finance Department has developed one of the first eBudgets in India. Driven by the motto of participatory governance, the Finance Department, this year also invited suggestions from the public on various subjects for the forthcoming Assam Budget.
The citizens can visit the Finance Department website to submit their ideas online. Suggestions are also welcome here on varied needs of the citizens: Health, Education, Welfare, Security & Justice, Environment, Agriculture, Industry, Culture & Heritage, Infrastructure and others.
